Hello All!!So I am so bummed but my email just earrased itself...so this letter might be a titch short. Sorry!First thing- thank you to everybody for the lettes and emails this week. They were exactly what I needed!!!!!This week me and my companion went on an eigo fast.....aka we only spoke Japanese. Except for we realized that not everybody speaks japanese so we had to modify our goal to just be with each other nad our district. It was really difficult but I learned so much and goto a lot closer with Bush Shimai. It is really important to SYL. towards the end of the week we got a little sloppy so I was kind of discouraged that I didnt totally meet my goal, but It just made me excited to do better the next time we do an english fast.So something funny: Our teacher didn't have his glasses becasue he lost thiem in the lake, so he got them back yesterday for the first time. and he had his pupils all dialated and the shimai tachi found him sitting alone in a dark room beause he had a headache, and so they were like hi! we have a question and he goes " What! I'm tired and I have a headache!" It was so funny. He is awesome (also he is parker in 10 years...except more shy). He is the best teacher. Actually all of our teachers are so awesome.ALso guess what gift I recieved? If you guessed a pair of home made earings.. you would be correct! Haha ohmygosh what is it with people making me earings?? They are pretty cool though. A choro in ou branch has a jewlwery making buisness back at home.So this week I studied a lot about the light of Christ and about the nature of god. It was a really spiritualy enlightening week. I made a bunch of connections that I was like AHH! THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE! So if you are bored, I encourage you to study about the light of Christ. It is SO COOL. This week I have been trying to become more converted to Christ (watch elder bendar's "characteristics of Chist talk..itll change your life.) so I started writing down the good things I do in m journal so that I can have an accounting of my progress and conversion. It is a good way to see what I have accomplished and to make goals for the next day/week.Thanks so much to the YW for your awesome quote book! That was so nice and so full of wonderful quotes that tottally apply to my life! thanks!! If any of you ladies has questions for me about mission stuff, dont hesatate to email me!3 Nephi 22:14 "No fear= no oppresssion" ..This made me think of you ladies. You are so inspirational and are doing so much good in the world. Don't fear, you are on the winning side! Also while studying I came across a name I had never heard of before. Who is the servent Gazalem? (Alma 37:23) Any Book of Mormon Buffs out there who know? (Aka Grandpa :] )This week has been really good because I have had to learn how to rely on the spirit so much when teaching and to teach simply. It is so true that the simple and weak are the best vessels of the lord. I also studdied vessels and qualities of them because I want to be the best vessel fo the lord that I can. If you need a fun FHE activity, go to the topical guide and find all the qualities of a vessel, and apply them to you!Oh another thing. I learned that a "less active memeber" translates to a "resting memeber" haha the Nihonjin are SO Polite I love it!!!Another thing: A few months ago during a MTC devotional, the general authority speaker was about to sit down when he rushed back up to the pulpit and said "I just watned to let all of the sister Missionaries know that because of your sacrifice, your families will be blessed for eternity." How awesome is that? I love what I am doing and it is so worth it.I challenge everybody to write down the good things you do in a journal every night. I promise you will be able to feel more self- confidence, peace that you are a good person, and will develop closer relationships with those who you have a hard time getting along with. But! this will only happen if you try to be better a little bit every day.Love to all!Nelson Shimai
