Hello!

Hello!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAVANNAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Birthday birthday comming to earth day- pink and wrinkled and small!!! (Guess the Cassette tape- yes its Scripture Scouts!) My companion loves that I quote and sing scripture scouts all the time....not. Whatever. Thats how I learned about the scriptures and the old testament so I have no shame. It has helped me so much to know the scripture stories  on my mission. People remember stories. Share your personal spiritual experiences when you feel prompted too- it will convert you just as much as it will convert those you share them with.

BAPTISM! Yoshioka Shimai is Baptized!!

I cant believe that this little SGI lady we housed into three transfers ago got baptized! I dont really know what to write because there is so much to say- The baptism service was great- our ward mission leader put together a great program. The ward was so nice and so supportive!! Members are so crucial in peoples conversion. She would not have converted without the members.
Maybe if you ask me specific questions about the baptism I would know what to say. It was really awesome. After the baptism we went over to a ward members house for lunch and had a feast! AND THERE WERE MUFFINS FROM COSTCO!! I love muffins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (okay sorry to seem more excited about that then the baptism, I am way more happy about the baptism but Baptisms are sacred so you cant just use a bunch of slang and exclaimation points about them, you know?) Anyways Yamano shimai gave Yoshioka Shimai some church clothes to wear- so nice!! The members all love her!

Okay here is an epic story: While we were waiting for Yoshioka shimai to change after the baptism, Fujitake Shimai told us about how when she was baptized, her husband found this lake in the mountians that they called the `waters of Mormon`. They got baptized there. A bunch of other members from our ward got baptized there too! how cool! I was like wow! I got baptized in.....a font, It was you know, normal. haha but its okay Im just happy to be baptized.

This morning I went to go oil my bike chain and our nicest college neighbor boy was like oh here, let me help you! and then when my oil ran out he was like you can use mine! How nice! He is studying to be a mechanic. Little does he know that he will soon be studying the inside of the baptismal font!

We had fun this week going to the temple!! we went with a family from our ward. THey have college age kids who just got back from their missions (one of them got back on friday- the day before we went to the temple!) ANyways it was really nice to be with a family and go on a road trip haha they are so funnly- me and Brother Miura jammed out to the sound of music! he knew all the words in english! We had fun teaching the kids some english phrases like `little did he know` and others. Both of them speak english- Tsubasa Kyodai speaks really great english. He is also our ward mission leader. He served in Tokyo and knows Tanner Olsen!

The temple was awesome- it was so cool in Japanese I learned a lot from listening in another languagae. It was very soul soothing and enlightening.

We met with Tamura san twice last week. I cant remember if I told you about her but she was exited to tell us about her experience with prayer- The day we found her was a really rough day- then when we knocked on her door she had just been told she was a bad mother by her childs preschool teacher. We taught her about prayer and she prayed!! She said that after we left she prayed again and felt peace. She had a fight with her husband but afterword she prayed and had peace. She knew it was because of her prayer. She is a miracle! Her lessons have been great- she is also reading the Book of Mormon. Also she got up at 4 to make us a cake this morning! what! she is so awesome!

Hope you all have a good week and that it gets warm!!!! its still freezing here but the sun was out today!!

Love,

Sister Nelson
